Download and extract this zip file for the correct executable and .bat file to use with this dataset.

Use the form below to select object types and colors. If you simply scroll down and click the Submit button you will download the compete Afghanistan 2010 Violence dataset with default object and color settings. Set the start month and end month to narrow your scope. I have made some assumptions about what parameters of the dataset might be of interest, but this is certainly open to suggestion. This is intentionally one of the simpler implementations possible. There may be other useful and more complex representations, for example using keywords from event Notes as sub-subobjects

Click Submit and download the file as ANTZ0001.CSV to the directory containing the previously-extracted files. Overwrite any existing files. Run the file named afghan2010violence.bat. The ant.exe executable should launch and automatically open the downloaded CSV data file.

Select an object and hit the "U" key to get supplementary data.

There are three subobjects representing Killed-In-Action, Wounded-In-Action, and Missing-In-Action. Use the Color Legend below as a guide.
